Last weekend Cody drove out to Palm Desert RC Raceway for a tune up before the A Main Hobbies Worlds Warm-up. The goal here was to get some wheel time and break in some engines, but in the process, he won Round 7 of the JBRL. The weather was great, and it’s always fun to race at Palm Desert RC Raceway. It was a nice surprise when we arrived to find a fresh, professionally built layout from Levi Jackson at Sik Track Designs.

To be honest, nothing too exciting happened during the expert buggy final. Cody kept it boring this time as he started from the TQ position and immediately stretched out his lead. He basically lead from wire to wire, and in the end lapped the field. There was a battle for 2nd place mid way through the final between Jacob H

First thing Saturday morning and everyone was having a look at the track, the layout looked very fast with several areas that although didn’t look too trick at first glance, we sure to throw cars off left right and centre.

The weather was a perfect start for a good weekends racing and everyone was eager to start the days racing.

After practice I was pleased with my Kyosho Vega, although I knew I had my work cut out to beat the likes of Connor Cocker, Jack Neal and Kyle Moon.

As the day progressed through the qualifying stages I managed to string together a few good results to secure myself the TQ spot going into the 3 leg A finals. Despite being TQ I knew that to win the meeting would still be a challenge with a hard charging Connor Cocker chasing from the off.

Connor walked away with the win in leg 1 which I knew had given him a big advantage going into the final 2 legs. The pressure was on!

Leg 2 started out with some very close battling but as the race progressed other drivers made several silly errors allowing me to drive away to victory and a single point in the leg.
