<!--:en-->Team Orion Driver David Poulter reports from the Petit RC race 2014 in Portugal.<!--:--><!--:fr-->Reportage de David Poulter, pilote Team Orion au Petit RC Gp au Portugal<!--:-->

Last weekend I attended the PetitRC Race in Terrugum, Portugal along with
other drivers from Poland, Holland, France, Germany, Spain & Portugal. The
track was a permanently laid outdoor astro track and the layout made for
close racing all weekend.

The event format was for free practice on Friday, 2wd Qualifying & Finals
Saturday, and 4wd Sunday, allowing plenty of track time.

2wd qualifying was lead by Tom Cockerill, taking TQ from Fábio Ramos and
David Poulter completing the top three. After the triple leg 7 minute finals
the top 3 would remain in qualifying position with Tom taking the win.

4wd qualifying would see Nuno Roque find form to take TQ, followed by David
Poulter and Fábio Ramos completing the top 3. The 7 minute finals would see
some very close racing in all 3 legs. It was Tom Cockerill coming through
from 4th on the grid to take the win, followed by Nuno and David.

I was using the new Team Orion R10.1 Speedo in both cars and it performed
very well despite the hot weather conditions, high grip and long races. I
ran the VST2 7.5T in the Cougar KF and a VST2 6.5T in the Cat K1 Aero.

The final race of the meeting was the UFO Race and was open to all drivers
to race at once. The final would last 10 minutes with only 2 marshalls and
it was all down to staying smooth and not making a mistake while making sure
not to push to hard. I ran a steady pace and the Orion electrics performed
faultlessly for the whole duration of the final enabling me to take the Win.
